What is Maintenance of Certification (MOC)?
The Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program outlines our dedication to encouraging our community’s ongoing education and is intended to support continued competence and career-long learning for our Registrants. One element of the MOC program, Knowledge Confirmation, is supported by the quizzes through SKILLS. The quizzes require no advanced study or preparation and can be re-taken as needed to meet the requirement to maintain specialty certifications.
What is the difference between writing questions for ARDMS exams and writing questions for ARDMS quizzes?
ARDMS examinations need to be taken and passed to earn an ARDMS credential. SKILLS quizzes need to be completed as part of the new Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program to confirm your knowledge after earning your credential.
Unlike examinations, SKILLS quizzes provide an opportunity to learn while demonstrating continued competence in the field. Whether you write questions for ARDMS examinations or SKILLS, you are helping us to uphold standards for sonographers. Whereas newly ARDMS Certificants can write examination questions, writing questions for MOC/SKILLS requires at least 3 years of experience in your role.
