How will this partnership impact Canadian Sonographers?
- Sonography Canada (SC) members pursuing ARDMS credentials in Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Pediatric Sonography, Pediatric Echocardiography, and Musculoskeletal specialties can substitute their passing scores on Sonography Canada Core Examinations 5.1, 6.0, or 6.1 for the ARDMS Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) exam.
- This gives SC members the ability to earn additional credentials and demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and abilities in additional specialties, thereby opening new potential career pathways for Canadian sonographers.
What Credentials Can I Obtain From the ARDMS?
To obtain ARDMS credentials, you must first take and pass the specialty examinations listed below the credential.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS)
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)
How soon can I apply for ARDMS credentialing examinations?
ARDMS will begin taking applications from Sonography Canada members in October 2023.
