Dr. Mana K. Ali Carter

Dr. Mana K. Ali Carter attended University of Maryland College Park for undergraduate education, earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Howard University, and completed fellowship in rehabilitation psychology at Johns Hopkins University. She is board certified in rehabilitation psychology. Dr. Ali Carter is the attending psychologist on the spinal cord injury unit at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) where she conducts psychological assessments and provides interventions aimed to support mood, coping with disabilities, health behaviors (e.g., pain management, sleep hygiene), and overall quality of life. 

Dr. Ali Carter also serves as the Director of Training for the Rehabilitation and Pain Psychology Fellowship at MedStar NRH, Co-Chair for MedStar National Rehabilitation Network’s Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Committee and Co-Chair for American Psychological Association Division 22’s Diversity Committee. She is also an adjunct professor at Bowie State University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and spending time outdoors.
